This 次第 means depends on — a different word from the as-soon-as 次第 at N2-1

参加できるかどうかは、天気次第です。

Sanka dekiru ka dō ka wa, tenki shidai desu.

Whether we can join depends on the weather.

It attaches to a noun directly, with no particle

使い方次第で、結果は変わります。

Tsukaikata shidai de, kekka wa kawarimasu.

The result changes depending on how it is used.

次第で is followed by a change; 次第だ closes the sentence
