〜ずにはいられない

Ano eiga wa warawazu ni wa iraremasen.

That film makes you laugh in spite of yourself.

ずにはいられない is being unable to hold back despite trying

あの話を聞くと、泣かずにはいられない。

Ano hanashi o kiku to, nakazu ni wa irarenai.

Hearing that story, I cannot help crying.

する becomes せず — the one irregular here

書き言葉でよく使われます。

Kakikotoba de yoku tsukawaremasu.

It is common in writing.

Speech uses ないではいられない, or simply つい〜てしまう
