〜ものだから

急(いそ)いでいたものだから、挨拶(あいさつ)もできませんでした。

Isoide ita mono dakara, aisatsu mo dekimasen deshita.

I was in such a rush I did not even say hello.

ものだから excuses yourself and asks to be understood

子供(こども)が熱(ねつ)を出(だ)したものですから、早退(そうたい)します。

Kodomo ga netsu o dashita mono desu kara, sōtai shimasu.

My child has a fever, so I am leaving early.

With です it can be aimed upward

ので より主観(しゅかん)的(てき)で、言い訳(いいわけ)の色(いろ)が濃(こ)いです。

Node yori shukanteki de, iiwake no iro ga koi desu.

More subjective than ので, and more clearly an excuse.
