〜向け／〜向き

これは子供(こども)向(む)けの本(ほん)です。

Kore wa kodomo muke no hon desu.

This is a book aimed at children.

向け means it was made for them — the makers intent

この仕事(しごと)は初心者(しょしんしゃ)向(む)きです。

Kono shigoto wa shoshinsha muki desu.

This job suits a beginner.

向き means it happens to suit, not that it was designed to

南(みなみ)向(む)きの部屋(へや)は日当(ひあ)たりがいいです。

Minamimuki no heya wa hiatari ga ii desu.

A south-facing room gets good light.

向き also means facing a direction — you hear it flat-hunting
