Formula:
普通形／です・ます
Explanation:
が 连接两个小句，有两种完全不同的用法：
① 转折（虽然…但是…）：高いですが、おいしいです
② 铺垫，没有转折意思，只是先开个头：すみませんが、～ 失礼ですが、～
第二种在开口搭话时极常用，不要理解成"但是"。Examples:
高いですが、おいしいです。
Takai desu ga, oishii desu.
It is expensive, but it is good.
The concessive: grant it, then turn
すみませんが、ちょっといいですか。
Sumimasen ga, chotto ii desu ka.
Excuse me, may I have a moment?
Here が is a preamble, not a contrast
失礼ですが、お名前は。
Shitsurei desu ga, onamae wa.
