Explanation:
一类形容词的简体：
安い / 安くない / 安かった / 安くなかった。
去掉 です 就是简体，词尾本身不变。
注意过去否定是 ～くなかった，不是 ～いじゃなかった。Examples:
この店、安い。
Kono mise, yasui.
This place is cheap.
An i-adjective plain form is the dictionary form; no だ
昨日は寒かった。
Kinō wa samukatta.
It was cold yesterday.
Drop the です from the polite form and you have it
あまり高くなかった。
Amari takaku nakatta.
It was not that expensive.
The negative past is くなかった, still with no だ
